What answers does God possess?

Jan 29, 2024

While many people ask God questions, it is often about specific choices: should you take Job A or Job B? Should you marry a specific person? There are many more questions we can ask God.

I believe God is all-knowing, all-powerful, complete, and unconditional love. In Genesis 1:13, God commanded, "Let there be light." Light dispels all darkness. In the dark, truth is hidden--and so are answers. When we think about our destiny, we may ask, “Why am I here?” Know that the God who created us has known us from the beginning of time and has all the answers we need. It is our job to keep asking,

  • Why am I here?
  • How can I help others?
  • What makes life meaningful? Exciting? Fulfilling?

The Bible promises those who seek will find. You can't seek without asking yourself, others, and God.

When I was gravely ill, I had to ask myself if I was choosing to live. Unfortunately, the answer was not a resounding yes. I had chosen to give up in seemingly insignificant ways. I was letting the darkness in with life's failures, disappointments, and unforgiveness towards myself and others take over my life. Asking the question, "Was I choosing to live?" was painful and challenging, and yet it led to a profound shift. This seismic shift led to asking myself significant questions, overcoming pride by asking others for help, and discovering the freedom to ask God for more. In humility, I found a profound sense that I was loved by God more than I knew and that in the questions was an invitation for more joy, happiness, purpose, and fulfillment.
